Important information on participating in all types of performance reviews

The performance assessments are divided into written examinations, oral examinations, other types of examinations and coursework. In order to participate, students must register online in the student portal by the deadlines specified by the examiners. If a registered participation is impossible, a deregistration from the respective performance assessment must be made in due time. Please note the following:

Written examinations:

A failed examination can be repeated once. If the retake is unsuccessful, an oral re-examination will take place. Cancellations without giving reasons are possible until the examination papers are issued. Cancellations can be made (1) via the student portal (CMS) by 24:00 the day before or (2) immediately BEFORE the examination directly to the examiner in person or via the student e-mail address (xxxx does-not-exist.student kit edu). If 1) and/or 2) are not complied with, a medical certificate may be required (e.g. in the event of illness of the student or a child or relative in need of care). Withdrawal from a scheduled oral re-examination must be notified to the Examination Board IN WRITING and made credible.

Oral examinations:

A failed oral examination can be repeated once. Cancellations without giving reasons must be made online in the student portal (CMS) at least three working days in advance. If the deadline of three days is not met, the reason must be reported to the Examination Board immediately in writing and substantiated. In the event of illness of the student or a child or relative in need of care, a medical certificate may be required.

Other types of examinations:

An examination of a different type may only be repeated once. Other types of examinations may consist of several components. The overall grade for the examination is made up of the performance of the individual components (see modules and partial performances). If an examination of a different type consists of several components, the examination is passed if the overall grade is at least "sufficient" (4.0). This means that the examination must be passed as a whole and not each individual element. Deregistration modalities are regulated in the module handbook.

Coursework:

Coursework can be repeated several times. Deregistration modalities are regulated in the module handbook.

Note: from SS23 the exam will be conducted in a different form, final exam with points awarded for online tests during the semester.

In this exam, the ILIAS online tests (max 25P) from the SS will be taken into account. The exam will then have a maximum of 50 points. Duration: 60 minutes.

Those who have NOT taken part in the ILIAS tests will receive additional exam questions (25 points), so that the exam can also be written without the ILIAS tests. The exam will then also have a total of 75 points. Duration: 90 minutes.
